Except for a few old cranky people who post pictures of flowers on Flickr… content creators want their content to be shared. We want our stuff to spread from site to site. The problem is, sometimes people forget to give credit. All we want is a link at the bottom of the post that sends people to our website.
If you see something that someone made on another site, whether it be me or a webcomic artist or whoever, try to leave a link in the comments. Be polite and just say, “Hey, I think this is from Pleated-Jeans.” Or “I think Cat vs Human made this.”
And if you have time, send the creator an email and let them know where you saw the uncredited post. Sometimes we can use that information to find out who is posting our stuff without attribution.
So be a good internet citizen. Help ALL content creators get credit for the things they create.
